Concrete Evap

Evaporation rate and cracking risk for fresh concrete.

Download on theApp Store
Concrete Evap on iPhone

Concrete Evap helps finishers, contractors and inspectors judge the risk of plastic shrinkage cracking before and during a pour.

Enter the conditions at the job site and the app calculates the surface evaporation rate and rates the risk, with the precautions to take when conditions turn against you.

How it works

Enter job-site conditions

Concrete temperature, air temperature, wind speed and relative humidity.

Read the evaporation rate

Calculated instantly in lb/ft²/hr, or kg/m²/hr in SI units.

Act on the risk level

Low, moderate, high and extreme warnings with recommended precautions such as windbreaks, fogging or covering the surface.

Features

Standard evaporation-rate equation

The same relationship behind the ACI evaporation nomograph.

Color-coded risk

See at a glance whether conditions are safe.

Standard or SI units

Switch between °F/mph and °C/km/h any time.

Ready on the job

Remembers your last readings and keeps the screen awake.

Support

Answers to common questions. Still stuck? Email [email protected] with your device and iOS version.

How accurate is the result?

It is an estimate from the standard evaporation-rate equation. Use it as a planning aid alongside your project specifications and on-site measurements, not in place of them.

Which risk thresholds does it use?

Below 0.2 lb/ft²/hr is low risk, 0.2–0.5 is moderate, and above 0.5 is high. The risk level is always based on the standard-unit rate, so it is the same in either unit system.

Why does it ask to track me?

The app is free and supported by ads. Allowing tracking lets Google show more relevant ads; declining still lets you use every feature. You can change this any time in iOS Settings.
